The LUMA Film Festival is an event created by students, for students, championing the work of budding filmmakers at the University of York – one of the UK’s top university film and television production departments.
LUMA also includes a range of talks and workshops from leading professionals in the UK Film & Television industry. Now in its 6th year, LUMA is bigger than ever. Past festivals have included Oscar-nominated cinematographer Roger Deakins, television writer, actor and producer Charlie Higson, BAFTA-nominated director Peter Webber and bestselling novelist and screenwriter Anthony Horowitz.
Productions have gone on to win awards and recognition at a national and international level, with BAFTA nominees and Royal Television Awards under the belt.
